The Pentax K 30 is compact and lightweight DSLR with features found only in higher end DSLR cameras models, such as weather dust and cold resistant body.
According to John Carlson, Sr. Manager of Sales and Marketing, PENTAX, “Every seam, every button, every hinge has been weather sealed for adventure-proof creative photography. Whether enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking in the Rocky Mountains or on vacation cruising along on the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls, photographers can stop worrying about weather conditions and start focusing on capturing the perfect shot.”
The design of K-30 is like the K-5. The camera is water resistant beast, you can use it even if is raining heavily as the camera has 81 weather-seals.
Apart from water resistant features the camera also this DSLR can also be used in snow-capped mountains like Mt Kilimanjaro, as the camera can operate in conditions as low as -10C. If you planning to go to Sahara this camera is perfect for the trip, as the sandstorm wont penetrate the glass either.
The camera comes in three colours, Crystal White, Crystal Blue and the traditional Classic Black and will be available end of June 2012 around $849.95 for the kit including the DA L 18-55mm zoom lens.
The Pentax K-30 has 16-megapixel CMOS sensor (image capturing area measuring 23.7 x 15.7mm, so APS-C format) which features Pentax's sensor shift type Shake Reduction.
